Three Point Field Goal

It is known also as ‘three pointer’, ‘three point shot’, ‘trey’ or just plain ‘three’. It is a field goal in the game of basketball. It is considered a three point goal if the shot is made outside the three-point line. The three point line is an assigned semi oval arch from the the basket. A successful shot will score three more points much like the two points credited to the shots made inside the three point line. A three point play is another thing. It is different from the three point field goal. Three point play is when the player successfully shoots a two point basket while being fouled by the opponent. He will then have a single free-throw which would sum up three points in all.
